Gâteaux Thoumieux has created two new éclairs that smell good as winter : the peanut butter/ caramel éclair coming straight from the United States and the « Blanc manger » eclair, which is a wink to the iconic desert of Jean-François Piège, served in his gastronomic restaurant.
Caroline Furstoss, head sommelier of the Jean-François Piège gastronomic restaurant has been named « sommelier of 2014 » on Monday, September 22 in Paris during the 28th edition of the « Trophées du Chef » (Ceremony which awarded the gastronomic french actors).
Born and raised in the Alsace region, Caroline Furstoss, 31,learned to be sommelier at the Strasbourg
Hotel School and then evolved in prestigious hotels and restaurants (le Méridien in Dubaï, l’Apicius in Paris, l’Hôtel Shangri-La in Paris).
She joined Jean-François Piège’s team in 2011 as head sommelier of the gastronomic restaurant which owns two stars in the Michelin Guide.
Jean-François Piège is proud to work with Caroline Furstoss and describes her as « a passionate person who considers wine as a hedonistic pleasure before anything else ». Both of them share this
philosophy and the desire to satisfy and surprise their guests every day.
